I'm Off
Hello Friends, Family, and Lurkers.
As you may or my not be aware, i'm moving to NYC for this summer. I'll be living in Manhattan with complete strangers at an NYU Student Apartment. I'm making the move, becuase I've feel my career growth in the Minneapolis Creative Economy is starting to become stagnant. I will be interning with Girlie Action Media, which is a media, management, and pr firm in New York City. If you want to learn about Girlie Action you can check out their site here http://www.girlieaction.com/. While i'm in NYC, I will also be taking improv classes at the legendary Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. The theater was founded by Amy Poehler, Matt Besser, Ian Roberts, and Matt Walsh who are legends in their own right. If you're just following a long and I have no idea what UCB is, then I recommend you check out this TODAY Show segment about the theater https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrVsS0S1J48 . Minneapolis has been a city that has shaped me into the person I am today. My first internship, open mic, and improv class all happened within the confines of the Minne Apple. As sad as it is go, i'm looking forward to applying all that I've learned in the past 5 years to not only my internship, but in every creative venture I can sink my teeth into while i'm in NYC. I'm creating this blog not only so friends and family can stay in touch, but so I can look back at time that will hopefully consist of great emotional, professional, and creative growth. To say that i'm not scared would be a lie, but Del Close once said, "Fall, then figure out what to do on the way down", and i'm going to do just that.
Best,
Nick
